Lesson 01 Make a shape

One shape. Change its kind, its size and its colour.

  • Every VRML97 file starts with the line #VRML V2.0 utf8.
  • A Shape has two parts. appearance says how it looks. geometry says what it is.
  • diffuseColor takes three numbers from 0 to 1: red, green and blue. 1 0 0 is pure red.

After lesson 04

Look at bigger worlds in the Lab, and read their source. The X3D specification lists every node: ISO/IEC 19775-1 at web3d.org. When you make something, share it. Good lesson worlds can become examples on this site.
